Cards Delivered to Hillsdale United Methodist Church

In late August, we had an amazing opportunity to visit the United Methodist Church in Hillsdale and connect with its large elderly community. As a group, we came together to create heartfelt cards filled with messages of encouragement, faith, and love. Each card was designed with care and decorated with uplifting colors, thoughtful designs, and meaningful Bible verses chosen to remind the recipients that they are never alone in their journey. Our goal was to spread strength through faith and bring a little extra light into their day.

Some of the verses we included were especially powerful and resonated deeply with the theme of hope and perseverance:

“Be JOYFUL in hope, PATIENT in affliction, FAITHFUL in prayer” (Romans 12:12)

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12)

It was so meaningful to witness how something as simple as a handmade card could create such a positive impact. For many of the elderly members of the community, these small acts of kindness serve as reminders that they are valued, loved, and held in prayer. We were grateful to be part of this beautiful effort to spread encouragement and joy, and it was inspiring to see how faith continues to bring people together in such uplifting ways.
